Tired of feeling like your Trauma has the upper hand? Want to function better in day-to-day activities? Decrease the constant thoughts of your trauma, even after years have passed? Will I ever be happy again? Will the nightmares stop? Do you genuinely want to learn how to defeat feeling the aftermath of your trauma an heal so that you feel whole and complete? I can help you achieve this goal. That is what we seek when looking for help. We want and have a goal in mind and want someone to give us how our goal can be achieved.
The biggest question a client has for me, who experienced trauma, is “how do I get to a place of security and happiness again.” You begin by learning what has happened to you and allowing yourself to be where you are at that moment in time. In order to begin healing from the aftermath of trauma you must first be out of the traumatic situation. I would first ensure you are stable and safe. You must feel safe in order to begin changing your fear.
A trauma specialist/coach, such as myself, helps you understand what is occurring to your brain, body and emotions. You must first understand why your fear is so engraved within your brain. In the psychological world we call this “trauma brain.” People who experience trauma, even years later, can experience setbacks and return to “trauma brain” thinking. Trauma recovery is achievable, but it is not uncommon to have triggers that may bring back memories or traumatic events. Sounds, smells, places and other triggers can easily create toxic memories. I can provide tools and coping strategies to conquer these triggers as they appear in your life.
Recovery from trauma is an individual process and will look different for everyone. Anyone that tells you that there is an exact formula to recovery, is misleading you. You want Results! You want to feel human again! I can help you find your own unique ability to heal. Healing is different for everyone because it depends on an individual’s beliefs and perceptions, level of coping and resiliency, support system, and external factors that were present before the trauma.
As your mental health consultant and trauma coach, I help guide you, educate you and develop along side you, your individualized TREP plan. TREP stands for Trauma Recovery Empowerment Profile. TREP is much like a toolbox. When you work on a car or even around the house you use different tools for different projects. As your trauma coach/ mental health consultant I will use TREP to help you develop coping strategies or tools to heal from past trauma, recognize red flags to avoid future trauma and or deal with trauma currently occurring in your life.
Recovery is significantly important when healing from trauma. One of the Key factors is to know that you will not forget the trauma and you do not want to. Remembering helps avoid future traumatic events and keeps you in recovery. Recovery from trauma involves the ability to successfully live in the present without being overwhelmed by thoughts and feelings from the past. Recovery places the traumatic event behind you so that you can return to joyfully living. Trauma recovery should always be viewed as a process that is worked through over time and in intentional stages.
